Raising the Roof: From Prayer to Provision, Completed and Paid in Full

Greetings, Henderson Chapel family, and our beloved Bishop Wicker and Presiding Elder Dillard,

I am thrilled to share incredible news—our church roof is fully repaired and paid in full! Thanks to God’s provision, the generosity of our Bishop, and the faithful support of our members, this major project has been completed in record time. What a testament to the power of faith, dedication, and community working together.

Reflecting on the recent visit of Bishop Wicker and Presiding Elder Dillard, I am reminded why Henderson Chapel is so special. I was sorry to have missed you both in person, but the members who were present could not wait to share the good news of your visit upon my return. You uplifted their spirits, and they left feeling sent, heard, and deeply appreciated. Presiding Elder Dillard’s words recognizing Henderson Chapel as a church that can always be counted on to be faithful continue to inspire us.

To our church family: thank you. Thank you for being the “little church with a big heart.” You care for the property, you care for your pastor, you care for one another, and you care for our community in ways that honor God. Your faithfulness, generosity, and dedication made this roof project not just possible—but a reality that is complete and fully funded.

This completed and paid-for roof is more than a structural improvement; it is a symbol of God’s provision, our unity, and what can be accomplished when good people work together. God is pleased, and so am I. We are sharing pictures on our website so that everyone can celebrate this milestone with us.

With God, all things are possible—especially when our Bishop, Presiding Elder, and the members of Henderson Chapel work together in faith and action.

With gratitude and love,

More Grace.
Rev. Demetrius A. Greer, M.Div.
Pastor, Henderson Chapel AME Church
